The Descalzos Viejos Iusta is one of the two monovarietal wines from the DV bodega. Named after the saints and sisters Rufina and the Iusta, who are still depicted on a fresco on the wall of the chapel of the former Descalzos Viejos monastery. A unique place, but also due to its unique wines. The vines are situated on a unique plot at an altitude of 650 meters, along the Tagus \u2013 the river that cuts through Ronda, resulting in a deep limestone soil with a sandy loam layer on top. This, combined with Ronda's unique microclimate, ensures that the wines from Ronda are different. Full of flavor with constant freshness. The Descalzos Viejos Iusta is cherry red in color, has an aroma of forest fruits and herbs, is mineral, tastes fresh with a long, balanced finish, and has aged for 16 months in 500-liter wooden barrels. Due to the aforementioned microclimate zone of Ronda, this has remained a very fresh Garnacha.<\/p>\n
Despite the 15% alcohol \u2013 there is simply a lot of sun in Ronda \u2013 but certainly due to the refreshingly cool nights, the grape retains its freshness here. By harvesting at the right moment, processing the grapes quickly and coolly, and with the magic in the wine cellar of Vicente Inat \u2013 the winemaker \u2013 they have a top Garnacha in their collection! Production of this wine is also limited, so enjoy it while supplies last. Serve at 15-18 degrees. The wine has good aging potential, but once tasted, keeping it proved difficult...<\/p>\n
