Cabernet Sauvignon d’all Italia? Ma certo!<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

We know the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, of course, from France as the quality grape of Bordeaux. But here in Veneto, it also grows very well\u2014perhaps even better, because the warmer continental climate allows it to ripen nicely. The wines become softer, less harsh, and pleasantly accessible. The Le Ragose Cabernet Sauvignon Rosso Veronese is therefore a very friendly and soft Cabernet Sauvignon with delicious, juicy black fruit. Marta Galli, owner of Le Ragose, once planted and nurtured these grapes, even though it is not a local grape. That is why this wine has a low classification: IGT, but we are gradually realizing that this means absolutely nothing anymore. The famous wine Sassicaia<\/a> back then it was also just a regular \u201cVino da Tavola,\u201d and look at the prices people are paying for that now. It\u2019s all wonderful, but this is simply delicious for a very good price.<\/p>\n

Le Ragose Cabernet Sauvignon is a true Italian wine made from French grapes. Here, no Pyrazines \u00a0<\/a> responsible for often somewhat green bell pepper-like notes. On the nose, there is an abundance of soft black fruit such as cherries and blackberries with some chocolate and spices. The wine is beautifully balanced, ripe in taste with soft tannins. Pleasant mouthfeel and easy to drink.<\/p>\n

The wine is delicious on its own, but pairs particularly well with duck. Roasted in the oven or even with Peking duck (though be careful with the Hoi Sin<\/a> sauce). Also great with leg of lamb and good spare ribs.<\/p>\n

Le Ragose<\/h2>\n

In 1969, oenologists Arnaldo Galli and his wife Marta purchased the abandoned estate of Le Ragose. Many vineyards in the region lay deserted due to the steep slopes. For many, this was simply too strenuous work, and they did not see the potential. Nowadays, with modern equipment, it is certainly easier to do, and they have the ideal location. The 40-hectare vineyard of La Ragose is situated on steep slopes. All work in the vineyard is carried out by hand. The terraced vineyards lie above the limit of the notorious nebbia (mist), which is common in Northern Italy during the winter. This results in low humidity and excellent sun exposure. As a result, the grapes receive full sun exposure and can ripen well.<\/p>\n

Marta Galli was named \u201cWinemaker of the World\u201d in 1990. She received this title for her role in restoring Valpolicella's reputation as a quality wine region and obtaining the DOC classification.
