In that year, Lavinio Franceschi decided to establish a winery in Montalcino. There, he began producing wines from the local Sangiovese clone Brunello, thereby becoming one of the first winemakers to launch the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino onto the market. The average age of the vines is between 25 and 40 years. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 150 to 450 meters above sea level. These differences in altitude ensure sufficient coolness, which is beneficial for the acidity of the grapes.<\/p>\n The harvest is carried out entirely by hand. After the harvest, the grapes undergo a skin maceration of 15\u201320 days to extract color, flavor, and tannins. Following this, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine ages for 30\u201326 months in large French oak vats.
