In the heart of the warm Spanish Rioja stands a beautiful 16th-century Benedictine monastery housing the Baron de Ley winery. A winery that has built an enormous international reputation in just a few decades. One of the many showpieces of the fantastic Baron de Ley winery is this white Reserva 3 Vi\u00f1as. You read that right, because this is certainly not the only top wine from this Spanish winery. The wine is receiving widespread recognition from, among others, Harold Hamersma (9-) and Perswijn (5 stars). And something like that doesn't happen just like that; this is a wine you simply must have tasted! <\/span><\/p>\n

In the glass, you see an attractive, bright golden-yellow color. Put your nose into the glass of this Bar\u00f3n de Ley 3 Vi\u00f1as, and you will be overwhelmed by the complex aromas of yellow fruit, quince, and honey. Taking a sip is now very tempting. Take a sip and you taste the flavors of almonds, spices, and lime. The fruit and minerality are perfectly balanced. On the palate, it is lively, deep, and complex, with many nuances, a mineral undertone, and a slightly salty finish. A gastronomic powerhouse of a wine, but also a wine to enjoy purely meditatively. Serve the wine with classic preparations of poached salmon, white fish in cream sauce, poultry, or veal dishes. It also pairs excellently with smoked specialties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1985, three successful wine producers in Rioja decided to establish a new winery. They purchased a former Benedictine monastery with surrounding land and an accompanying wine cellar. Benedictine monks had been making their wine in this cellar since shortly after the Middle Ages. It was to become a Single Estate bodega, using grapes from its own vineyards\u2014a unique concept in Rioja, where more than 90% of winemakers were dependent on local grape growers.<\/p>\n

Nowadays belongs Bar\u00f3n de Ley<\/a> with more than 750 hectares of its own vineyards, it is one of the most successful wine companies in the world. Furthermore, at Bar\u00f3n de Ley, much more emphasis was placed on structure, color, and fruit aromas in the wines, because Rioja had to be more than an uncomplicated wine in which the taste of oak is predominantly dominant. Initially, these Riojas found their way mainly to Spanish restaurants and wine specialty shops, but once international attention had been attracted, the demand for Bar\u00f3n de Ley wines exceeded the supply. The name Bar\u00f3n de Ley has become synonymous with and a guarantee of top quality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
