A delicious blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese from Piceno in the Italian Marche. Aromas of red diamond, blackcurrants, and raspberries wrapped in a full, velvety wine with a long finish. This is a wine you want to serve with Italian cuisine, and particularly dishes containing tomatoes. But thanks to its sturdy, bold style, the wine also pairs well with slightly fatty meat dishes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tasting note Marinus Piceno Superiore DOP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The scent of this Marinus is reminiscent of Christmas in a bottle. Sweet spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, anise and ginger, combined with cherries and dark forest fruit. On the palate this wine is silky soft, full and juicy with elegant acidity and a light minerality. The aftertaste is long and dry with a hint of cedar. This wine therefore deserves to be enjoyed quietly, with delicious Italian dishes as an accompaniment.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Vinification<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The vineyards of this Rosso Piceno benefit from a balanced microclimate between the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountains in the Italian <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/regio\/marche\/\">Marche<\/a>. The soil of the vineyards contains a lot of limestone and clay, which is very beneficial for the complexity of the grapes. After the manual harvest of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/druif\/montepulciano\/\">Montepulciano<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/druif\/sangiovese\/\">Sangiovese<\/a> grapes a very strict selection takes place. Furthermore, a gentle pressing and controlled fermentation follow. The juice first ages for 3 months in stainless steel tanks on its own yeast cells (\u201csur lie\u201d), after which it undergoes a year of aging in oak barrels.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/domein\/il-conte-villa-prandone\/\"><strong>Il Conte Villa Prandone<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The Il Conte Villa Prandone estate is situated in the beautiful hills of Monteprandone in the Marche region.
