Cabernet Sauvignon is known for its amazing wines for aging. This Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon from Stellenbosch, South Africa, is no exception! The wine can be enjoyed young by lovers of very robust red wines and can certainly be aged for 20 years! As the years pass, the tannins will become softer and rounder, and the wine will develop earthier notes. It is highly recommended to let the wine aerate in a decanter for several hours before drinking. A delicious wine to accompany a braai and red meat.<\/p>\n

In its youth, this wine is deep garnet red in color and bursting with aromas of black cherries, plums, and blackberries. Undertones of black olives, mint, and cedarwood make this wine incredibly interesting from a young age. On the palate, the wine is fruity with firm tannins and a long, flavorful finish. This wine truly comes into its own with a grilled piece of meat. As the years pass, the wine becomes softer and rounder, with the wood notes and warm chocolate tones coming to the fore. A classic Stellenbosch Cabernet of top quality!<\/p>\n

Vinification<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Cabernet Sauvignon<\/a> grapes come in from specific vineyards Stellenbosch<\/a>; cool gravel slopes overlooking False Bay and rich, red granite soils surrounding Stellenbosch. The combination makes a beautiful wine with balanced aromas and flavors. After harvest, the grapes go through vinification separately for each vineyard and mature separately in oak barrels for a year. After a year of maturation, the winemaker makes the final blend and matures it for another year in oak barrels. The wine is released on the market approximately two years after harvest and can continue to mature in the bottle in the own cellar for years.<\/p>\n
