The Bodegas LAN Rioja Reserva has ripe fruit aromas with delicious vanilla and spicy notes thanks to the long oak aging. Primarily <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/druif\/tempranillo\/\">Tempranillo<\/a> with a touch of Mazuelo. Firm yet soft and deliciously ripe. Decant the wine briefly before serving, as it could use some extra oxygen. You will want to pair this wine with food. Grilled and braised meats are always a good combination. Well-seasoned dishes, vegetables, and spicy cheese also work perfectly!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tasting note Bodegas LAN Rioja Reserva<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The aromas burst from this deep ruby \u200b\u200bred wine! Cherries, blackcurrants, and plums, enveloped by warm vanilla notes, chocolate, and gingerbread spices. On the palate, the wine is full and rich with pleasant acidity and well-integrated tannins. A hint of pepper and bay leaf on the finish, as we expect from a Spanish <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/regio\/rioja\/\">Rioja<\/a> . Pair the wine with well-seasoned dishes for the optimal taste experience. Meat is always a safe choice, but this wine also goes well with vegetarian dishes. We recommend decanting the wine briefly beforehand so that the tannins can integrate better and the acidity becomes more balanced.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Vinification<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The grapes for this Rioja Reserva come from vines at least 25 years old in the vineyards of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa in Spain. The grapes ferment together with the skins in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks, during which the juice is constantly pumped over. This allows the skins and seeds to impart as much flavor and color as possible to the wine. Subsequently, the wine is transferred to hybrid oak barrels made of American and French oak. Here, the wine ages for at least 18 months. After wood aging, the wine is bottled and ages for another 20 months in the estate's cellars.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bodegas LAN<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Bodegas LAN winery was founded in 1972 in the heart of the Rioja and also named itself after it. LAN is the abbreviation of the three provinces within Rioja: La Rioja, Alavesa and Navarra. Characteristic of the wines from this domain is that they are produced with extreme respect for the grapes, while maintaining the characteristic properties of the vineyard. This principle is followed at every stage of the process, from fermentation to aging.
