This is a true dinner wine that comes into its own best with grilled meats, Spanish sausages, and soft cheeses. This Tempranillo even shines with rich fish! Ripe, sweet cherries, a hint of vanilla, and a crumb of coconut. Sourced from the best region in the Spanish Rioja: Rioja Alta. Here, it is just slightly cooler, making the fruit sweet yet delightfully fresh. Combined with the Crianza oak aging, the wine achieves an incredibly beautiful balance.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tasting note Ram\u00f3n Bilbao Crianza<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Deep, dark red in color, almost black! The nose fills with black fruit, plums, cherries, and a hint of balsamic. Vanilla and coconut from the oak aging give it that delicious Rioja touch. Sultry and spicy on the palate with an elegant, mineral finish. Pleasant acidity, rich and full with ripe tannins. Pure enjoyment with everything from Spanish cuisine, from rich fish to red meat.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Vinification<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The vineyards of this Rioja Crianza are located in the upper part of Rioja: Rioja Alta. The soil consists mainly of limestone and loam. A unique climate prevails here, where the warm wind from Cantabria clashes with the cool Mediterranean wind. The Ebro River maintains the moisture level in the vineyards. <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/druif\/tempranillo\/\">Tempranillo<\/a> grapes benefit from many hours of sunshine during the day and have the opportunity to develop their freshness during the cool nights. The grapes are only harvested when they are optimally ripe, which is why the pickers return to the vineyard multiple times for a new batch. The wine ages for 14 months in American oak, as is traditional for Rioja Crianza. After wood aging, the wine continues to mature in the bottle for at least another 8 months in the cellars of Ram\u00f3n Bilbao before we get to enjoy it.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bodegas Ram\u00f3n Bilbao<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Ram\u00f3n Bilbao wine estate is located in Haro, Rioja Alta, the heart of the best DOC Riojas. For generations, the estate has been working here to achieve the highest possible quality of Tempranillo grapes and wines. Modern techniques are used, while respecting old Spanish traditions.
