Organic, fresh Sylvaner from Alsace<\/h2>\n

De Gustave Lorentz Sylvaner<\/a> R\u00e9serve is a delightfully refreshing wine, with beautiful notes of white flowers, citrus, minerality, and apple. The wine is elegant with a broad, silky texture and develops a certain finesse. Rich, but not oily. Intense aroma, with citrus fruit and distinct complexity. On the palate, also pleasant light citrus fruit with a dry and elegant finish. Charming wine with beautiful balance. The wine pairs well with a fine charcuterie board or a tasty flammekuchen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gustave Lorentz Winery<\/h3>\n

The Gustave Lorentz house has been established for generations in the picturesque town of Bergheim, just north of Colmar. Bergheim is located in the Haut-Rhin department, making it the finest part of Alsace. The Lorentz family owns 33 hectares of vineyards, a considerable amount of land by regional standards. This holding also includes plots in several Grand Crus. The jewel in the crown is the plot in the Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru, generally regarded as one of the finest plots. Gustave Lorentz wines are known for their gastronomic quality: fresh, dry, and well-balanced. Since 2012, all their wines have been Organic<\/strong> certified!<\/p>\n

Terroir and vinification<\/h3>\n

Gustave Lorentz Sylvaner R\u00e9serve wine originates from the diverse hills surrounding the town of Bergheim in the southern part of Alsace (Haut Rhin), with predominantly clay and limestone soil. The hand-picked grapes are pressed immediately upon arrival using a pneumatic press. This is followed by traditional, temperature-controlled vinification. In Alsace, it is customary to age the wines in very large, old wooden barrels. While these no longer impart flavor, they do contribute to the complexity and aging potential. This is due to the micro-oxidation that takes place within the wooden barrels.
