Give this wine half an hour after opening (do not decant!). With some oxygen, the full aroma and flavor profile develops well. Initially, the wine may still be a bit closed. The color is very light, somewhat Pinot Noir-like. On the nose, you detect a combination of dark fruit, blackberries, leather, and spices. Full and warm mouthfeel with plenty of dark fruit, plum, tobacco, and wood again. A very beautiful, complex, and persistent finish! The tannins have receded into the background in this wine. The grapes for the Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia 2012 come from the Bussia cru in the commune of Monforte d\u2019Alba in Barolo. The vineyards face southwest, at 300 meters above sea level. The soil consists of clay with abundant limestone sediment and iron. The vines are around 35 years old. The grapes ferment with a very long maceration of 40 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages for 6 months in stainless steel and 30 months in large barrels (20-25 hl) of Slavonian oak. The 2012 vintage is considered an excellent year in Barolo. The weather and conditions during that year resulted in high-quality grapes with excellent ripeness and flavor.<\/p>\n
