\nThe L&S Cuv\u00e9e Lucie Brut is the basic Champagne of the house, which clearly demonstrates the good quality of L&S. This elegant wine consists of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. The bright color and finely pearly mousse are immediately striking. On the nose, the L&S Cuv\u00e9e Lucie Brut offers a mixture of fruit and white flowers. The taste is soft and intense, with a nice balance between fruity and ripe notes. The dosage of 9 g\/l provides a pleasant fruitiness, without being overpowering.<\/p>\n
L&S Champagne is run by thirty-somethings and namesakes Lucie & S\u00e9bastien Cheurlin. It is a small, charming champagne house. Located in the Aube, in the C\u00f4te des Bar, they benefit from a unique terroir. The Kimmeridgian soil, a mixture of limestone, clay, and fossilized oyster shells, gives their Champagnes a specific character. This region is the cradle of organic and natural Champagne production. The Aube supplies grapes for the well-known brand champagnes from Reims and Epernay, and now winemakers come here to learn about organic farming.<\/p>\n
Inspired by their father Richard, Lucie and S\u00e9bastien selected five hectares for 100% organic cultivation in 2006. Lucie took a biodynamics course and became convinced of the positive effects of natural methods on her wines. Her efforts were rewarded with the title Jeune Talent de Champagne in 2013. In 2011, they applied for organic certification, a process that took three years. The first certified organic Champagne, Coccinelle & Papillon, was released in 2018.<\/p>\n
