C\u00f4<\/strong>te Rotie? Nee: Coco Rotie! Laat je verassen door deze super wijn!<\/h2>\n

Wouw, dit is zo een wijn die een dansje in je mond doet. Hij heeft veel smaak, is zacht qua taninne en complex met een volle body. Veel aroma’s van zowel rood als zwart fruit. Denk aan aardbei en framboos maar ook bramen. In de afdronk komt er kruidigheid van drop en peper omhoog met wat cederhout en leer. De RedHeads Coco Rotie is een levendige rode wijn met een expressief karakter. Alles ondersteund door een bloemige toets. Deze bijzondere wijn uit McLaren Vale, zuid-Australi\u00eb, combineert Syrah<\/a> met een vleugje Viognier<\/a> voor extra complexiteit. De handgeselecteerde druiven van 30 jaar oude wijnstokken zorgen voor een intense smaakbeleving. De zijdezachte tannines maken deze Australische schoonheid direct toegankelijk maar ook geschikt voor rijping.<\/p>\n

Coco Rotie is een verwijzing naar de bekende, meest noordelijke, AOC in de noord-Rh\u00f4ne<\/a>, de C\u00f4te Rotie<\/strong>. Hier komen hele mooie en stevige wijnen vandaan van de zelfde druif, Syrah. McLaren Vale is net als de Barossa Valley<\/a> een van de meest bekende gebieden voor Shiraz<\/a>\/Syrah in Australia<\/a>. De gebieden staan bekend om hun old-vine wijnen van hele hoge kwaliteit.<\/p>\n

Smaakbeleving en Culinaire Harmonie<\/h3>\n

In het glas onthult de RedHeads Coco Rotie zich met een diepe donkerrode kleur en verleidelijke fruitaroma’s. Het samenspel van Syrah en Viognier zorgt voor een perfecte balans tussen kracht en elegantie. De wijn toont een rijk palet aan smaken waarbij het fruit voorop staat. Deze karaktervolle rode wijn is een uitstekende begeleider van lamsvlees en rijke stoofgerechten met rundvlees. De zachte tanninestructuur en levendige fruit maken hem ook heerlijk als glas op zich.<\/p>\n

Het Rebelse Wijnhuis RedHeads Studio<\/h3>\n

RedHeads Studio, opgericht door een groep eigenzinnige jonge wijnmakers, staat bekend om hun onconventionele aanpak in McLaren Vale. Hun filosofie draait om het ‘bevrijden’ van hoogwaardige druiven uit Zuid-Australi\u00eb. De Coco Rotie wordt met grote precisie gemaakt waarbij de druiven samen vergisten in open vaten. Gedurende vijftien dagen wordt de ‘hoed’ tweemaal daags handmatig ondergedompeld voor optimale extractie. Na de vergisting rijpt de wijn veertien maanden in eikenhouten vaten waarvan een kwart nieuw.<\/p>\n

Het etiket: De Legende van de Apenkoning<\/h3>\n

Het verhaal achter de RedHeads Coco Rotie gaat terug naar het jaar 638. Het etiket vertelt de legende van een onverzadigbare Apenkoning. Geen hoeveelheid wijn kon zijn goddelijke dorst lessen en geen berg geroosterde kokosnoten zijn hemelse honger stillen. Deze mythische geschiedenis inspireert het karakter van deze eigentijdse wijn.<\/p>\n

James Suckling\u00a0 91 punten<\/strong>: “A meaty syrah with aromas of black fruit, cocoa, tar and walnut husk on the nose. Firm and savory with a full body and chewy tannins. 96% syrah and 4% viognier. Better in 2024. Screw cap.”<\/p>\n

Perswijn<\/strong>\u00a015\/20:<\/strong> “Zwoel, zoet fruit, kersen, tabak, zoethout. Warm, rijp, gerijpt, zoettoon.”<\/p>\n

Jancis Robinson over de 2019-vintage 16\/20<\/strong>: “Pale crimson. Sweet, slightly ‘industrial’ nose. But rich and nicely balanced savoury Shiraz fruit on the palate. Not too heavy and not too alcoholic-tasting. Good balance. Sweet start and saline, quite long finish. The palate is much more winning than the nose.”<\/p>\n

Wine Spectator over de 2018-vintage 91 punten<\/strong>: “Blood orange, maraschino cherry and raspberry puree flavors are pure, fresh and supple, with an elegance to the satiny tannins. Clove, matcha green tea, turmeric and toasted rye notes linger on the finish. Syrah and Viognier.”<\/p>\n
