The Wente Riva Ranch Chardonnay is a classic oak-aged Chardonnay: Golden yellow in color, deliciously rich and round. On the palate, vanilla, brioche, and plenty of juicy citrus fruit make the wine beautiful. Fortunately, the wine also has a touch of acidity, keeping the taste fresh and well-balanced. According to the label, it is a 100% Chardonnay. Although\u2026 there is also a bit of Gew\u00fcrztraminer for some extra tropical fruit. This addition makes the wine even tastier. The Gew\u00fcrztraminer gives the wine a delicious extra tropical \u201cover the top\u201d kick. To tame and enrich the rich fruity flavors, approximately 90% of this wine ferments in new and old oak barrels. For the much-needed freshness, the remaining portion ferments in stainless steel.<\/p>\n
In addition to the classic Chardonnay flavors of apple and pear, the Arroyo fruit of the Wente Riva Ranch Reserve Chardonnay offers aromas and flavors of tropical and stone fruits. Thanks to the long, cool growing season with deep, gravelly soil, the Chardonnay ripens perfectly to provide a natural balance between sugar and acidity. Alongside tropical fruits such as pineapple, mango, and lychee, and gingerbread spices, this Chardonnay also offers plenty of freshness on the finish. All of this is beautifully wrapped in a creamy and velvety texture. A rich and full mouthfeel with a fine, long finish. Delicious to pair with chicken tagine with peach and apricots, grilled lobster with a lime\/oregano butter sauce, or a piece of pan-fried cod with Beurre Noisette.<\/p>\n
