The wine is made from 100% Nero d\u2019Avola grapes that have matured for 6 months in French barrels. Deep dark in color, with atmospheric aromas of dark forest fruit and leather, a soft finish, and sweet, ripe tannins that are both harmonious and elegant. Consequently, the Stemmari Nero d\u2019Avola was awarded a silver medal (90 points) at the prestigious wine competition of the British wine magazine Decanter.<\/p>\n<h2>Stemmari Winery<\/h2>\n<p>The winery is an ode to Sicilian tradition and shows great respect for the natural environment. The winery is built in the traditional Sicilian rural style with a courtyard known as a \u201cbaglio\u201d.<br \/>\nHere, respected tradition meets advanced technology. This results in wines of both top quality and with familiar, old flavors.<br \/>\nThe winery is equipped with high-tech equipment in a fully thermally controlled environment. The flavors and aromas resulting from vinification are subsequently refined and enhanced by aging in barrels in the cellar.<br \/>\nAn expert team of viticulture specialists and oenologists, people who work with passion, are dedicated to producing top-quality wines.<\/p>\n<p>Stemmari is owned by Mezzacorona, one of Italy's largest and leading wine companies. They wanted to market wines in the popular 'new world' style and searched the entire world for this, eventually ending up in Sicily. The vineyards are located in the southwest of sun-drenched Sicily.
