Situated in a protected nature reserve lies the small town of Bechtheim, where the Geil family settled in the late 19th century to cultivate wine. Father Georg immediately named the house and vineyards after his son Johannes Geil, who in turn passed it on to his son, Johan(nes) Geil, a few years ago.
