Vajra Barolo Serralunga from the municipality of the same name is a beautiful Barolo in this Vajra range. In 2009, G.D. Vajra acquired ownership of the specific vineyards of Luigi Baudana, who, however, was able to fully retain his own specific status and style. Luigi Baudana is one of the last mini <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Garagistes\">garage mechanic<\/a>-estates that are still active in the Langhe region. However, too small to be commercially successful nowadays. It is also the smallest of all. <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/regio\/italie\/piedmont-piemonte\/\">Piemont<\/a>ese wineries. Consequently, they have planted only 2.8 hectares of vineyards. But what a good decision this was! The Barolo has immediately made a huge leap in quality again. This Barolo is a product of class! Sweet rose aromas and meat notes reveal themselves first, then black cherries, plums, and cassis, followed by hints of scorched earth, graphite, iron, and blood. This is a very beautiful wine, completely in balance.<\/p>\n<p>The intensity of that characteristic Nebbiolo licorice and cola is relegated to the background in this wine, as dark fruit is the leading force. However, the wine possesses the acidity and natural structure to propel it forward for at least 10 years or longer. This version of the *only* 8,000 bottles (sic) does require a bit more time. Drink: approximately 2022-2040; The Luigi Baudana Barolo Serralunga receives a fine 93 points from Monica Larner, the Italy specialist working for Robert Parker\u2019s The Wine Advocate. It is essential, however, that the wine is always decanted for at least an hour or two first to allow it to open up properly.<\/p>\n<h3>G.D. Vajra Barolo Serralunga has a long history..<\/h3>\n<p>For over thirty years, the couple Luigi and Fiorina Baudana have cultivated the Serralunga vineyards, which have belonged to their family for five generations. Their only red wine is the Barolo Serralunga. The tenderness of their love and care for one another is reflected in their land. In January 2009, Luigi and Fiorina entrusted the Vajra family with the unique task of becoming the guardians of their history, name, and family vineyards; the origins of the cellar are lost in time. Baudana is the name of the family, the vineyard, and the hamlet of the municipality of Serralunga where it is located.
