The Guv’nor is no more, long live the Kingpin!<\/h2>\n

The Guv\u2019nor is a wine loved by many. The English, in particular, are fond of it. Due to Brexit, the winemakers at Felix Solis have decided to replace The Guv\u2019nor label for Europe with the Solis Kingpin Tinto. The same delicious wine in new packaging. A bit of a marketing move, really. We understand it takes some getting used to, but upon tasting, it is immediately a feast of recognition. And now even at a very attractive introductory price!<\/p>\n

The Solis Kingpin Tinto has a cherry-red color. Aromatic, refined with good intensity. Sweet ripe black fruit, Mediterranean herbs such as thyme and rosemary, balsamic notes. Background with accents of leather and vanilla. On the palate, it is complex, broad, and lively, with fruity and mineral notes immediately noticeable, along with delicate sensations of cocoa. Persistent and elegant finish.<\/p>\n

Blending<\/h3>\n

The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and the Spanish grape Tempranillo. This is not surprising, as blending is becoming increasingly common in the wine world. These wines are made with different grapes from different vines, selected based on their regionality or variety. This characterizes them as unique wines with their own identity, in which the art of winemaking is represented. What many consumers sometimes forget is that a blend is not a sign of weakness, but can actually yield more complexity in the wine. The goal of blending is to obtain a different and special wine, making use of, among other things, Tempranillo<\/a>\u2013 and Syrah varieties from Spanish viticulture, which offer their own peculiarities.<\/p>\n

The grapes come from old vines and are hand-picked. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks for 10-14 days at a controlled temperature of 26-28\u00baC. The wine remains in American oak barrels for 3-4 months until the end of malolactic fermentation. After determining the blend, the wines are assembled. An exemplary glass.<\/p>\n

F\u00e9lix Sol\u00eds Avantis<\/h3>\n

F\u00e9lix Sol\u00eds Avantis is one of the largest family wineries on the Iberian Peninsula and was founded in 1952 in the DO Valdepe\u00f1as, for a long time the main road to Madrid. The winery was established at the time with the most modern and extensive production facilities. Over the years, it has expanded to a production area of \u200b\u200b120,000 m\u00b2. They produce wines under many famous labels, such as Casa Albali and San Juan.<\/p>\n
