Wonderful career for the Carmen\u00e8re for Chile<\/h2>\n

The Malbec and Carmenere grapes, formerly Bordeaux\u2019s hope in troubled times! Mostly uprooted because they wouldn't ripen there. Now regretted once again due to climate change\u2026 But meanwhile, it turns out: Malbec is the star in Argentina and the Carmen\u00e9re<\/a> is actually doing very well in Chile. The Carmenere ripens beautifully here and produces a very specific wine. The J. Bouchon Reserva Carmen\u00e8re is a prime example of this! Dark purple in color, with ripe black fruit such as cassis and black cherries. The grape also has some green notes as a typical characteristic, such as tomato, freshly cut bell pepper, and green peppercorns, enveloped by dark bitter chocolate and roasted coffee beans. An interesting combination with a strong nod to the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. A structured yet accessible wine without harsh tannins. We highly recommend it! Try it out! A wine with a distinct character!<\/p>\n

The J.Bouchon Reserva Carmen\u00e8re<\/a> goes great with grilled roasted Picanha, but is naturally a winner with a hearty Chili con Carne (with a spoonful of cocoa powder in the sauce for a bridge). It loves roasted bell pepper salad!<\/p>\n

The grapes come from vineyards in Santa Rosa, 54 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyards are located close to the mouth of the Maule River, which brings coolness from the Pacific Ocean. The soil is alluvial, with a high proportion of clay and rounded pebbles. The grapes ferment in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature of 24\u201330 degrees Celsius for a period of 12 days. During this entire time, the juice remains in contact with the grape skins. Subsequently, 50% of the wine ages for 4 months in used French oak barrels.<\/p>\n

J. Bouchon family wines<\/h3>\n

This company has been around for quite a few years and owns a large area of \u200b\u200bold, unirrigated vineyards. This is quite exceptional for Chile, but because the roots go deep and yields are low, these vineyards produce intense and complex wines. The wines truly emphasize the origins of the Maule region. They work as organically as possible both inside and outside the vineyard, and as sustainably as possible! They believe that the vineyards must live in harmony with their surroundings.<\/p>\n

At J. Bouchon, the family is the origin, the present, and the projection. Julio Bouchon L. joined the family project at the end of the twentieth century, right at the time when Bouchon was beginning to export its wines everywhere and needed a young vision that would combine tradition and modernity. The siblings Juan and Mar\u00eda did so ten years later.<\/p>\n
