The Hiruzta Txakolina (pronounced: Tsjakolina), made from the almost unpronounceable Hondarrabi Zuri grape. Classically fresh and crisp with a modern, almost salty twist. Not surprising, considering the vineyards are situated practically in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a very refreshing surprise. I never thought Spain produced wine like this.<\/p>\n<p>Light yellow in color with greenish hues. Very fine carbonation bubbles are clearly perceptible when pouring a glass. Intense aromas of pear, apple, a good amount of grapefruit, and tropical fruit in the form of pineapple and passion fruit. All enhanced by the subtle release of natural carbonation. The Hiruzta Txakolina is very balanced and fresh, with a distinct sensation of zesty effervescence on the tongue and integrated acidity. Pleasant on the palate, with a long citrus and tropical finish. Tight and dry mouthfeel.<\/p>\n<p>Txakoli is the wine produced in the Basque Country in northern Spain, primarily using the Hondarrabi Zuri variety. This is an indigenous grape that distinguishes Txakoli from all other wines in the world. Txakoli has been produced for several centuries in Hondarribia, the town after which this indigenous grape is named.<\/p>\n<h3>Wine producer Hiruzta<\/h3>\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiruzta.com\/en\/hiruzta-winery\/\">wine producer Hiruzta<\/a> only the best grapes are used. The care for the vineyards is therefore optimal.<br \/>\nThe combination of the mesoclimate, the soil, and the right grape varieties are the keys to the exceptional \u201cterroir\u201d. Unique. Nothing in the world compares to it. The vineyard with pergola planting is situated in a privileged south-facing location, enjoying maximum sunlight and benefiting from the sea breeze from the Jaizkibel cliffs.<\/p>\n<p>At Hiruzta, they view it not merely as a winery\u2026 but as a philosophy of life. Their passion and love for the wine world inspired them to create their own txakoli winery in one of the most beautiful locations in the Basque Country: Hondarribia.
