The Luretta Boccadirosa is a vibrant and fruity white wine with an intense flavor. Expressive, seductive, and beautifully complex. Flowers and ripe fruit rise from the glass to meet you. Full-bodied yet dry and round in taste.<\/p>\n
This wine is made from one of our favorite grapes: Malvasia. Or, to be precise, the Malvasia Aromatica di Candia variety. The Luretta Boccadirosa brings out the best in this grape. As soon as you pour the wine, you immediately see that you have something special in your glass thanks to the deep yellow color. And what a wonderful nose! Aromatic with Mediterranean flowers, such as acacia, and lots of tropical fruit: lychee, pear, and pineapple. The fruit returns on the palate, pure and soft. On the palate, the wine is round and juicy. A long finish makes the wine complete.<\/p>\n
Our favorite dish with this wine is grilled fish from the BBQ. But the Luretta Boccadirosa also pairs surprisingly well with seafood risotto and pumpkin tortellini.<\/p>\n
The winemaker, Lucio Salamini, bought a number of vineyards on the hills of the Luretta River with his family in 1993. The ambition was to make the best wines in Italy. A tall order when you have no experience in winemaking.<\/p>\n
In 2016, we discovered Luretta's wines and were immediately sold. This is delicious! There are certainly better (and more expensive) wines to be found, but here, for a good price, you really have something special in your glass. And that applies to all of Luretta's wines. The wines are far from average, but that is precisely what makes them so special. Each wine has a distinct character of its own.<\/p>\n
The secret of Luretta is to allow the typicality of the soil and that of the grape varieties to be expressed in the wine.\u2019 At Luretta, they strive for deep roots for optimal utilization of nutrients in the soil.<\/p>\n
