Baby Amarone<\/h2>\n

The red wine Le Ragose Le Sassine Valpolicella Ripasso is indeed essentially a mini Amarone. Produced by one of the pioneers in this region! What a beautiful Ripasso this is. Really good! Not for nothing did our friend Hamersma give it a score of just under 9. This is a wine for the connoisseurs. Perhaps this is one of the finest Ripassos. Classic and very elegant. The aroma features plenty of soft, sweet, and sultry red fruit with vanilla, tobacco, and leather. Intense ruby \u200b\u200bred color with garnet hues. Powerful but certainly not tiring.<\/p>\n

This wine is delicious with lamb and game. Find your moment to meditatively enjoy this precious and complex wine treasure.<\/p>\n

Le Ragose Le Sassine Valpolicella Ripasso is made from the grapes of the ordinary Valpolicella<\/a> (Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone). Moreover, they make the wines in the most natural way possible from grapes of old vines. However, the grape skins from the Amarone wine are macerated along with the grapes for 15 to 20 days. These grapes are dried, resulting in a much higher flavor intensity. This ensures more structure, a slightly higher alcohol percentage, and a more subtle acidity. For the Ripasso, the grapes are blended with the lightly pressed grapes from the Amarone. This gives the wine (originally a Valpolicella) such a boost that you can safely call it a Baby Amarone. Without Amarone, there is no Ripasso\u2026<\/p>\n<\/header>\n

La Ragose<\/h2>\n

Marta Galli was named \u201cWinemaker of the World\u201d in 1990. She received this title for her role in restoring Valpolicella as one of the classic Italian wines and for obtaining the DOC classification. It is fitting that she is called \u201cLa Signora del Vino\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 1969, oenologists Arnaldo Galli and his wife Marta bought the abandoned estate of Le Ragose. Many vineyards in the region lay deserted due to the steep slopes, which were difficult to cultivate. Difficult, but best for the grapes, so... they set to work. They wanted to produce the red wines Amarone and Valpolicella in the most natural way possible.<\/p>\n

The 40-hectare vineyard of La Ragose<\/a> is situated on steep slopes. All work must be carried out by hand. The terraced vineyards lie above the limit of the notorious nebbia (mist) that is common in Northern Italy during the winter. A perfect spot with low humidity and excellent sun exposure.
