Een perfecte interpretatie van het Langhe-terroir<\/h2>\n

De Luigi Einaudi Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi 2015 toont de wilde kant van de druif Nebbiolo. Viriel en krachtig. De smaken zijn donker en mysterieus. Donkere kersen, gedroogde bloemen, lavendel, asfalt, kruiden en verschroeide aarde ontwikkelen zich. Deze wijn geeft op een prachtige manier uitdrukking aan de uitgesproken persoonlijkheid van Barolo-wijnen. Medium tot full-bodied met een zijdezacht mondgevoel en daarna een opbouw van wat zachte tannines. Voor een Barolo heeft deze wijn een soepele afdronk.<\/p>\n

Oogstjaar 2015 was een zeer goed jaar in de Barolo-streek. De temperatuur was relatief hoog, waardoor de wijn snel rijpt. Barolo 2015 is ‘al’ op dronk vanaf 2022-2024 en kan daarna nog lang bewaard worden om verder te rijpen. Geef Barolo wat de tijd, dan toont het zijn volle schoonheid. De Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi 2015 is een intrigerende wijn die veel te bieden heeft. Hier moet echter wel een serieus gerecht naast. De pasta met witte truffel is natuurlijk een klassieker maar bijvoorbeeld Brisket<\/a> van Everzwijn is ook een uitstekende keuze.<\/p>\n

Costa Grimaldi<\/h3>\n

De Luigi Einaudi Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi is gemaakt van een selectie van de beste Nebbiolo-druiven (Michet-kloon) van de Costa Grimaldi-wijngaard, oorspronkelijk gekocht door Luigi Einaudi in 1958. De wijngaard heeft kalkrijke mergelgrond, goede hoogten en een ligging op het zuidoosten. De wijngaard beslaat bijna 5 hectare (12,35 acres), maar slechts ongeveer 3 zijn gewijd aan deze wijn. Het is gelegen in de heuvels tussen Barolo en de weg die naar Novello en La Morra leidt. Na temperatuur gecontroleerde fermentatie in roestvrijstalen tanks en twintig tot twee\u00ebntwintig dagen maceratie, rijpt de wijn dertig maanden in Franse eikenhouten barrique en Slavische vaten, gevolgd door twaalf maanden op fles voordat hij wordt vrijgegeven. Vol met zachte tannines en een kruidige afdronk. Goed bewaarpotentieel, mooi evoluerend in de tijd.<\/p>\n

Poderi Einaudi<\/h3>\n

Weinig wijnhuizen zijn zo verweven met de geschiedenis van Itali\u00eb als Poderi Einaudi, dat werd gesticht door de eerste president van de Italiaanse Republiek – een van de meest gerespecteerde in zijn geschiedenis – om democratisch te worden gekozen door zijn collega’s (in 1948). Echter ondertussen in 1897 was hij al begonnen met het maken van wijn, nadat hij zijn allereerste boerderij had gekocht in San Giacomo, Dogliani. De eigendommen zijn sindsdien exponentieel gegroeid en omvatten landgoederen in de meest gewilde gebieden van de regio, met een oppervlakte van 160 hectare (395 acres), met meer dan 60 hectare (148 acres) wijnstokken. De kelder zelf is volledig gerenoveerd en uitgebreid. Het meeste ervan is ondergronds en temperatuur-\/vochtigheidsgecontroleerd, wat ideale omstandigheden voor de wijnen biedt.
\nTegenwoordig is Einaudi eigendom van en wordt gerund door achterkleinzoon Matteo Sardagna, die samenwerkt met enoloog Beppe Ca Viola, Zvonimir Jurkovic, keldermeester en wijngaardmanager en Roberto Mozzone, logistiek manager.
