The nose is expressive and combines notes of exotic fruit, grapefruit and a light spiciness and smokiness from the maturation on its yeast. The Tornatore wine estate was set up by Francesco Tornatore, who made his money in telecommunications. He created a beautiful wine estate in Castiglione di Sicilia only in the 21st century. This is located on the north side of Etna on the volcanic soil. However, Francesco's great-grandfather already planted vineyards in 1865, so Tornatore can not only boast more than 150 years of experience, but there are also some old vineyards. Tornatore only wants to work with indigenous indigenous grape varieties, so Nerrello Mascalese and Nerello Cappucio for red and Carricante for white, including a manual picking.<\/p>\n
Sicily is quite warm, but the Tornatore wines are grown at such high altitudes, between 600 and 1,000 meters, that the wine achieves a remarkable freshness and elegance.
