The subsoil consists largely of loam with a high content of lime and mineral salts. Due to the presence of abundant gravel, the soil has good drainage. This ensures that the grapes can ripen optimally. Also of great importance is the Pel\u00e9r wind, which blows across Lake Garda. It causes large temperature fluctuations in a short time that benefit the aromas in the wine. Lake Garda, in turn, also acts as a regulator against excessive differences between the seasons.
