The aromas burst forth. Beautifully fresh, somewhat tropical, and finishing with a refined sweetness. This white wine owes this sweetness to the Zibibbo grape. This indigenous Italian grape is probably one of the oldest grapes in Italy. Zibibbo is the Sicilian name for the Muscat of Alexandria grape, which gives the wine its aromatic character.<\/p>\n<h2>Winemaking<\/h2>\n<p>Crudo Catarratto Zibibbo Organic is an organic Southern Italian wine made from two indigenous Sicilian grape varieties: <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/druif\/catarratto\/\">Catarratto<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/druif\/zibibbo\/\">Zibibbo<\/a>. Catarratto is the most common grape variety on <a href=\"https:\/\/wijnclubamsterdam.nl\/en\/kenmerk\/regio\/sicilia-sicilie\/\">Sicily<\/a>. After the harvest, the two grape varieties are fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures of 14-16\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<h2>Taste and food pairing<\/h2>\n<p>Crudo Catarratto Zibibbo Organic has an aromatic scent with hints of tropical fruit, pineapple, elderflower, and citrus. On the palate, the wine is fresh and fruity with balanced sweetness, hints of ripe tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, white flowers, and lime. Crudo means \u2018raw,\u2019 and in Italian cuisine, this wine is often used with raw fish dishes. This is also evident on the label. Consequently, this wine is delicious with fish and shellfish such as langoustine and lobster. Furthermore, Crudo pairs well with light and spicy Asian dishes, seafood, and fresh salads. It is also a perfect wine as an aperitif.<\/p>\n<h2>Awards<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Gold medal (96 points) at the International Organic Wine Award 2018<\/li>\n<li>Gold medal (92 points) at the International Organic Wine Award 2016<\/li>\n<li>Silver medal at Concours Mondial Bruxxeles 2018<\/li>\n<li>According to Vivino, Crudo Catarratto Zibibbo Organic ranks among the top 5% of the region's wines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Did you know?<\/h2>\n<p>Zibibbo is a local name for a white grape that is better known internationally as Muscat of Alexandria. The name Zibib means raisins in Arabic and refers to the taste of the grape.
