Sweet and sparkling

The Moscato d’Asti is a delicious fresh, slightly sparkling dessert wine. Made from 100% Moscato bianco grapes, originally from France and brought to Italy in the 13th century. The Cascina Fonda winery is located in the Langhe hills in Piedmont. This is located in the heart of Loazzolo, a separate area crossed by the Marin, an onshore wind that comes from the Mar Ligure. This wind promotes the ripening of the grapes, increasing the aromas and flavors.

It has an intense and very fruity aroma, with a scent of exotic fruit and elderflower. This is a very clear example of the muscat grape. By cooling and filtrating the stopped fermentation you obtain a low alcohol percentage and a clear residual sweetness. The wine is not intensely sweet, but has a fresh note, making the wine very accessible.

Moscato d’Asti with dinner

The fresh/sweet and sour character of the wine is ideal as an aperitif but also very suitable for not too sweet desserts such as fruit salad, peach, poached pear or, for example, a panna cotta with fresh fruit.
