A sacred wine

The Castelgreve Vin Santo is a full-bodied, fragrant dessert wine from Tuscany. The grapes used in Vin Santo are always of the highest quality. This is also the reason that Vin Santo is not produced every year. After picking, the grape vines are hung in a shed for 3 to 4 months to allow the grapes to dry. This drying process subsequently increases the sugar content of the grapes.

After this drying process and pressing, the wine is placed in small barrels made of various types of wood (oak, cherry and chestnut) for a number of years. This gives it its specific oxidative taste, aroma and amber color.

Cantuccini-Toscani

The color is warm amber yellow. The bouquet is full and complex. The scent is of raisins in combination with the aromas of apricots, figs, dried fruit and a clear nut/almond touch. The taste is full and warm, slightly sweet, silky and gives a wonderfully warm aftertaste. It is precisely this nuttiness that makes the wine so suitable for drinking with the famous Cantuccini Biscotti.

Besides the fact that this wine is delicious with the Cantuccini Biscotti, it also goes very well with desserts with chocolate, Pecorino cheese or other sharp cheeses.
