Deliciously Juicy Spanish Organic Red Wine!

Mmmm! Aromas of violets and jasmine, followed by ripe strawberries and cherries. The Belsetán Garnacha is a delightful red wine from Aragón, sourced from vineyards at an altitude of 550 meters. This elegant wine is made entirely from Garnacha grapes by the organic winery Punctum. The name Belsetán also refers to an almost extinct dialect spoken by only about 30 people. Since its founding in 2005, Punctum has grown into Spain’s most award-winning organic winery. In addition to this Garnacha, they also produce a special and delicious orange wine.

Taste and Culinary Suggestions

On the nose, this Garnacha reveals refined aromas of jasmine and violets, complemented by fresh notes of strawberry and cherry. Gentle floral nuances enhance the typical character of the grape. On the palate, you’ll discover an intensely fruity style with soft, rounded tannins. Flavours of cherries, strawberries, and a hint of bay leaf come together in perfect balance. Thanks to a pre-fermentation cold maceration, the lively fruitiness is beautifully preserved, while maturation in stainless steel ensures a pure, uncomplicated wine experience.

The Belsetán Garnacha pairs perfectly with:

  • Spanish charcuterie and sausages
  • Melanzane alla parmigiana
  • Grilled meats and barbecue dishes
  • Tapas and Mediterranean appetizers
  • Soft cheeses and antipasti

Serving suggestion: 15–17 °C for the best tasting experience.

Punctum – Award-Winning Organic Winery

The Punctum winery was founded in 2005 by the Fernández Cifuentes family in Las Pedroñeras. The name literally means “crossroads” and refers to its location between Cuenca, Ciudad Real, and Albacete. Today, Punctum is Spain’s most decorated organic estate. They produce modern wines from both native grape varieties, such as Tempranillo and Graciano, as well as international ones. They also work with exciting varieties like Viognier and Petit Verdot.

The grapes for the Belsetán Garnacha come from high-altitude vineyards in Aragón. The cool nights at 550 meters help preserve freshness and acidity. The grapes first undergo a cold maceration to intensify color and aroma, followed by controlled fermentation. Maturation in stainless steel tanks guarantees a pure expression of fruit. This Garnacha perfectly reflects Punctum’s sustainable and organic philosophy.

Tradition and Modernity from Aragón

The name Belsetán refers to a local language spoken by only a few dozen people, giving this wine an extra authentic dimension. Its cherry-red color with a purple rim highlights the youthful freshness of this Garnacha. Thanks to the combination of altitude, climate, and organic cultivation, the grapes ripen optimally, while modern vinification techniques preserve their natural character.

The Belsetán Garnacha thus forms a harmonious bridge between centuries-old traditions and innovative organic winemaking. The result is an approachable yet distinctive wine that beautifully embodies the soul of Aragón.
