Dry, fruity & aromatic from the Puglia region
This Zolla Chardonnay is a fresh representative of a well-known grape. It shines a beautiful bright golden yellow in the glass. The scent is characterized by aromas such as crisp green apple, fresh peach, and ripe mirabelle plums. A touch of fresh green herbs underlines the fruit notes very harmoniously. The taste is smooth and supple, the acidity is exciting and inviting. Balanced and a good long finish: an elegant Chardonnay from the heel of Italy. Delicious to drink at a party, but it also goes well with a fish dish with green herbs
Farnese Vini
Farnese produces southern Italian wines on a large scale. But they don't just do that: the winery also attaches great importance to sustainable working in the vineyard. Almost exclusively indigenous grape varieties have been grown because the wines must express the terroir of the region in question. The Zolla Chardonnay therefore has a very distinct local touch from this area in its taste. Farnese was founded in the 16th century. In 2020, eight wineries in six different wine regions in southern Italy belong to the group. The aim of the group is to promote and make better known the wines and the special region. It works really well! Both the Zolla as the individual wineries regularly win awards and are highly praised by wine critics around the world.
The meticulous attention to detail and the marketing strategies precisely tailored to each individual product confirm the desire to play a truly leading role in the wine renaissance of Southern Italy. This tireless pursuit of perfection has enabled them to become a leading company in Southern Italy for production and marketing and to win numerous national and international awards.
Fantini Group was named “Best Producer of Italy” by Mundus in 2020, and also in 2016, 2017, and 2019 by one of the leading industry guides, the “Yearbook of the Best Italian Wines” by Luca Maroni; voted “Producer of the Year 2017” by Belgian journalist Alain Bloeykens; additionally, the Edition Five Autochthonous wine – the company’s flagship – has been named “Best Wine of the Year” 11 times; more than 80 gold medals and international trophies have graced the company’s showcase in recent years, including the “Wine Spectator Top 100”.
