Meet three iconic wines from Piedmont!

Namely the Barbera grape, the Nebbiolo (from which Barolo and Barbaresco are also made), and the delicious white Arneis. In this Damilano Trio Wine Gift, you can get acquainted with the three most popular and authentic grapes in the Northern Italian Piedmontese hills. Piedmont is known for its intense, elegant, and spicy fruity wines. A top gift for the Italy lover and the connoisseur!

    Piedmontese top quality in triplicate

Discover the refined flavors of Piedmont with this exclusive wine gift. The Damilano Trio Wine Gift brings together three characteristic wines from one of the oldest and most respected wineries in Barolo. From crisp white Arneis to elegant red Nebbiolo and juicy Barbera – this trio demonstrates why Damilano has been producing top-level wines since 1890.

    Damilano Langhe Arneis

Straw yellow with fruity, fresh, and delicate aromas. The Arneis grape is also known as “the little rascal” or “the scamp” in the Piedmontese dialect, and that suits this excellent white wine perfectly. The grapes come from calcareous clay-sand soil in Vezza d’Alba.

On the nose, you detect white flowers and stone fruit with a hint of lemon. On the palate, crisp apple, pear, and a delicate almond note shine. The wine is dry, elegant, and harmonious with a beautiful freshness.
    Perfect with:

    • Aperitif
    • Pasta with light sauces
    • White meat such as chicken or veal dishes
    • Fish such as sea bass or sole
    • Shellfish such as shrimp or mussels

    Damilano Nebbiolo Langhe Marghe

Ruby red with purple garnet-colored reflections. On the nose, typical delicate aromas reminiscent of violet and red fruit. On the palate, dry, correct tannins with a velvety, harmonious, full body.

The wine is compact and even a little spicy on the finish, an accessible, easy-drinking wine loaded with plenty of nice varietal character. Wild rose, cassis, cherries, and pencil shavings are part of that playlist. The wine's lean texture, primary fruit, and freshness give Marghe its food-friendly edge.
The fermentation of the wine takes place in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks at a controlled temperature. This is followed by 16 months of aging in Slavonian oak vats.
    Delicious with:

    • Pasta with rich meat sauces
    • Mushroom risotto
    • Poultry such as duck or pigeon
    • Veal with herbs
    • Soft cheeses

    Damilano Barbera d’Asti DOCG

Dark purple-red with a very fruity aroma of currants, violets, cherries, and vanilla. This Barbera, made from 100% Barbera grapes, comes from the Monferrato region in Piedmont. Damilano has been producing this wine since 2008, and it is of very high quality.

The wine is aged in 20% new oak barrels. This imparts a subtle wood aroma to the wine. Although Barbera wine has a fairly dark color, it is soft on the palate with surprisingly fresh acidity and moderate tannins. These are juicy red wines with structure and complexity. These wines can easily be aged for 5 to 10 years.
Dishes with a bit more fat pair well with this wine:

    • Grilled rib eye or sirloin
    • Osso buco
    • Risotto with bacon and radicchio
    • Pizza with mushrooms and salami
    • Roasted leg of lamb
    • Pasta Bolognese

    About Domaine Damilano

The Damilano family winery is widely regarded today as a true leading player in Barolo. The current winery dates back to 1935. However, their vineyards on the Cannubi hill (the most prestigious wine hill within the Barolo commune) date back to 1752.

The history of this historic family business began in 1890, when Giuseppe Borgogno – the great-grandfather of the current owners – began vinifying the grapes from his vineyards himself, instead of selling them to other producers. Together with his son-in-law, Giacomo Damilano, he tended the vineyards and oversaw the vinification of the wines.

In 1997, Giacomo's grandchildren took over the management. Although more than good wines have always been produced, the new drive and energy of this 4th generation – consisting of Paolo, Mario, and Guido Damilano – have ensured that the quality has risen to great heights.

A constant stream of innovations has led to internationally highly acclaimed Barolos. All possessing a majestic elegance. While Paolo and Mario handle the commercial side, Guido Damilano is responsible for vineyard management and vinification.

Guido tends the 53 hectares of Nebbiolo vineyards, spread across the communes of Barolo and La Morra, together with the renowned Italian agronomist/agricultural scientist Gian Piero Romana. In the wine cellars, Guido is assisted by none other than Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Caviola – the premier wine consultant in Piedmont.
