The Italian answer to the ‘Provence style rosé’

The Calalenta Rosato from the Fantini wine estate is the Italian alternative to a ‘Provence style rosé’; fresh, fruity with a pleasant minerality. This rosé from Abruzzo (Abruzzo) is very light pink in color, almost transparent. Wonderfully fresh aromas of strawberry, raspberry, freshly cut watermelon and rose petals waft from the glass and keep you smelling this wine. In the mouth the wonderfully refreshing taste bursts with notes of fresh fruit, flowers with soft, delicious mineral notes. A long aftertaste with a fresh acidity in combination with fresh fruit brings the wine to a great finale. The ultimate pleasure on a hot summer day or when you long for a warm summer day. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in the sun!

Grape variety/Vinification
Fantini Calalenta Rosato is made from 100% Merlot. The vineyards here are in an excellent location in Abruzzo. The vines are pruned low and planted on steep hills at altitudes up to 250 meters above sea level. This creates a wine with an excellent balance between aromas and acidity. The grapes are picked by hand at night and immediately after harvest they are cooled to -1° C and pressed. The cooler the grapes are, the less likely spontaneous fermentation will start and the better all aromas are retained! The first pressing is fermented for 20 days at a temperature of up to 10°C in a stainless steel tank. After a light and rapid maturation on the lees for 30 days in stainless steel, the wine is gently refined, filtered and immediately bottled.
