A white wine made from two different grapes. A fine combination of Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of freshness and apple, and the floral notes of the Viognier. A delicious, refreshing thirst quencher. The name Duo des Mers Sauvignon Viognier is inspired by the two different regions of origin from which the wine comes: the cool breeze of the Atlantic Ocean and the warmth of the Mediterranean Sea.
Reunis de Cebazan Duo des Mers is a wine whose grapes come from two different regions in France. The sauvignon blanc grapes are grown in the relatively cool Gascony. This area is influenced by cooling ocean winds. The viognier is grown in the Languedoc and is influenced by the warmer Mediterranean Sea. The Sauvignon Blanc gives the wine freshness, while the Viognier provides full, ripe notes. In France, due to strict regulations, blending a wine from two different regions results in the wine receiving a lower classification as a regional wine: Vin de France.
The two different grape varieties come from different regions. The Sauvignon Blanc comes from a cool part of Gascony, while the Viognier is planted in the warmer Languedoc. The grapes are harvested at a relatively early stage, preserving fresh aromas. This process takes place at night when the temperature has dropped. The grape juice ferments at a low temperature, resulting in a fresh wine style.
A light-colored wine with a fresh, vibrant aromatic expression. Scents of apple and lemon combined with ripe pineapple and a hint of caramel. Naturally, it pairs ideally with seafood. It is no coincidence that this wine was the winner of the annual Philippine mussel wine competition in 2018. All participating mussel restaurants serve this winning wine for a year. The wine is excellent served as an aperitif, or paired with a fresh salad with grilled chicken or pasta carbonara.
