A full-bodied, rich, and classic Chardonnay from top producer Louis Latour in the Burgundy style, but from the Ardèche. The big brother of the Ardèche Chardonnay with elegant oak aging. Full-bodied, stone fruit with some nutty aromas and vanilla. A beautiful minerality makes this Chardonnay not heavy, but rather graceful, seductively full, and complex. For lovers of oak-aged Chardonnay, this wine pairs perfectly with a charcuterie board. However, a piece of fish in butter completes the wine perfectly.
Golden yellow in color with intense and complex aromas of grilled almonds. The delicious almond notes also come to the fore on the palate, complemented by aromas of pear, melon, lime, peach, honey, and creamy butter. Full and round in taste with the typical richness you would expect from an oak-aged Chardonnay. A wine you want to linger over. Serve the wine at 12 degrees Celsius with a well-stocked charcuterie board, a piece of fish fried in butter, or with shellfish. A wine that lingers in the mouth and the mind.
The Chardonnay The grapes for this Louis Latour Grand Ardèche come from older vines on the best plots in the Ardèche. The vineyards in the Ardèche are situated at high altitudes to ensure they receive sufficient cooling in the sun-drenched region. The clay and limestone soil, combined with the Mediterranean climate and sustainable viticulture, ensures optimal ripening conditions and, above all, consistent quality. After the harvest, the grapes undergo gentle pressing, after which the juice and must are immediately poured into wooden vats for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Just like Latour's Burgundy wines, the wine ages for 10 months in small estate oak barrels for optimal wood aging.
The family business Louis Latour has been active since the 17th century active in high-quality wine growing. The winery is located in the Côte d'Or, in the heart of the Burgundy region. Here they have been making wines of excellent quality for ten generations, which are among the best in the world. It is not surprising that Bourgogne and Louis Latour are often mentioned in the same breath. Latour wines can mainly be found in the better catering establishments. The house has now grown into a major global player and is active in more than sixty countries. The wines from the Ardèche, just like the Burgundy varieties, are of high quality and sustainably grown.
