This time, the Chardonnay from top producer Louis Latour does not come from Burgundy, but from the Ardèche. This is the little brother of the Grand Ardèche, but the quality is no less impressive! A soft, fruity, and fresh wine, without oak aging. A brilliant golden-yellow color and soft exotic fruit on the nose, which is typical of Chardonnay. Perfect with a piece of pan-fried cod fillet, shellfish, or simply with a piece of cheese.
In the glass, the wine is a beautiful golden yellow color. Aromas of citrus fruits, peach, and apricot fill the nose. Soft, but above all fresh. The taste is juicy and inviting. Fresh citrus and apple combine beautifully with a hint of exotic fruit. A creamy, soft, and balanced taste with a pleasant finish. Serve the wine with a piece of cheese, white meat, or fish with a creamy sauce. The wine is ready to drink from one year after the vintage and can be enjoyed up to 5 years after the vintage.
The vineyards of this 100% Chardonnay located in the Ardèche at an altitude of 270 meters, the soil consists of clay and limestone. The Mediterranean climate and sustainable viticulture ensure optimal ripening conditions and, above all, consistent quality. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the village of Alba-La Romaine, where fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Temperature and values are strictly controlled, and Burgundian techniques are applied here, guaranteeing the finesse and elegance of the wine.
The family business Louis Latour has been active since the 17th century in high-end viticulture for centuries. The winery is located in the Côte d’Or, in the heart of the Burgundy region. Here, they have been producing wines of outstanding quality for ten generations that rank among the best in the world. It is not surprising that Burgundy and Louis Latour are often mentioned in the same breath. Latour wines can be found particularly in upscale hospitality establishments. The house has since grown into a major global player and is active in more than sixty countries. Sustainable viticulture is a top priority at Louis Latour.
