When we tasted this wine, we were very impressed by this El Perdiguero Crianza. The color, aroma, and taste are so full and full-bodied that it is hard to suppress a grin. We consider this a Spanish Tempranillo that makes you happy. Highly recommended!
What makes this El Perdiguergo Crianza Finca Museum So what makes it so special? First of all, it is the vines, some of which are 60 to 80 years old, that are used for this wine. Private residents from the surrounding area still own small plots with these old vines. They bring these grapes to Baron de Ley because the yield from their own plots is too small to make wine themselves. However, the quality is very good, and these grapes impart a deep, powerful, and lived-in character to the wine. Precisely because the wine comes from old vines, it possesses many attractive and expressive aromas of red fruit, licorice, vanilla, and creaminess. A soft, round mouthfeel follows, with delightfully soft tannins and a long, pleasant finish. Undiscovered wine region of Cigales
In Spain, there are many well-known wine regions such as Rioja, Rueda, and Ribera del Duero, and a number of other famous names. Wines from these famous areas often find their way to the consumer quite easily. Cigales, however, does not yet have this level of recognition, even though, as evidenced by this El Perdiguero, exceptionally good wine can come from there. It is a rugged area, but with perfect conditions for making exciting and robust wines. However, because the Cigales wine region is not yet known to the general public, there is sufficient supply and the price-quality ratio is very competitive.
Cigales has a continental climate with cold winters and scorching summers. This makes life hard in the countryside. Young people are moving away from the countryside and choosing a life in a big city. The result is a sparsely populated countryside.
The vines for “El Perdiguero” Crianza are planted far apart. After manual harvesting, the fruit is destemmed and then placed in stainless steel tanks, where the grapes are fermented whole for 5 days. This creates a great richness of aroma and gives the wine a rounder taste. This is followed by 6 months of aging in American oak barrels.
El Perdiguero is intensely purple-red in color. The wine possesses an attractive and expressive aroma, with red fruit and licorice. Additionally, caramel, vanilla, and creaminess. Round on the palate, with exuberant fruit and soft tannins, and a long, pleasant finish. Serve this wine with red meat and hard cheeses; an irresistible combination!
