Damilano Nebbiolo Langhe Marghe is a wine made from 100% Nebbiolo-grapes and grown on limestone and clay soil in the vicinity of the village of Langhe in the province of Piedmont. In this environment, this beautiful wine was created with its ruby red color and hints of garnet reflections. A delicate and unique aroma of violet and red fruit, balanced tannins, and a velvety, harmonious body.
Damilano is one of the oldest wineries from the Piedmont. After the phylloxera crisis Phylloxera Vastatrix , Giuseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started bottling wines at the Damilano estate in 1890 on phylloxera-resistant vines. Today, Paolo, Mario, and Guido, the 4th generation, work with great love on the finest wines. Their motto is to always look ahead and not be afraid of new developments. The goal they pursue is to refine the quality of their wines even further. Thanks in part to the efforts of top wine consultant Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Caviola, Damilano is among the best companies in the region.
The color is ruby red with purple garnet reflections. On the nose, typical delicate aromas reminiscent of violet and red fruit. On the palate, dry, correct tannins with a velvety, harmonious, full body. Recommended serving temperature is 16°/17°C.
The fermentation of the wine takes place in stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks at a controlled temperature. This is followed by 16 months of aging in Slavonian oak vats.
