When vineyard owner François Delamotte founded his champagne house in 1760, he surely could not have imagined that his champagnes would still grace our tables more than three centuries later. The Delamotte Champagne Brut is the Brut Sans Année, the best-selling champagne and the calling card of the house. A delicious classic Non-vintage. champagne of high quality. Perhaps somewhat overlooked by the general public in terms of name, but highly regarded by connoisseurs. Never aggressive and without ever assaulting the palate, this is a beautifully powerful champagne. Freshness and roundness blend into a clean, fruity finish, with a balanced and elegant length on the palate. A fantastic glass for a festive occasion. It also gives you a new lease on life at your hangover breakfast on January 1st.
In the Delamotte Champagne Brut there is a particularly balanced balance of three grape varieties. The 55% Chardonnay content forms the backbone of the structure, while the 35% Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay provides depth and fruit. The 10% Pinot Meunier perfects these harmonies with aromatic density. The wine is made from grapes from different vintages Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. The bottles were left to mature in the cellars for 30 to 36 months and the final dosage was kept low.
Tucked away in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, where the finest limestone soils are found, Delamotte builds upon the principles of founder François. Delamotte – the sister company of Salon – makes champagnes “with bold simplicity”.
To keep the champagnes as pure as possible, Delamotte does not use oak barrels or artificially selected yeasts. Deservedly, Delamotte has grown into the favorite champagne house of many connoisseurs, enthusiasts, and bon vivants. Champagne is a language. It is always evolving and must be learned. And at Delamotte, they are convinced that it must be universal. That everyone should be able to speak it. Speaking champagne is not just for an elite, but for all gourmets and the curious like you. Delamotte therefore strives to democratize this ancestral and delightfully French language, so that tasting their champagnes becomes a complete experience.
