Weisser Burgunder (or Pinot Blanc) from Weingut Seeger is a dry, fresh, fruity wine with subtle aromas of pineapple, pear, and spring blossoms. The taste is light-footed and refined with elegant acidity and a fresh finish.
In 1984, Thomas Seeger made his first wine as an oenology student at the University of Geisenheim. Gradually, he took over more and more of the management of the winery in Leimen, which has been in the family's possession since 1707. Under Thomas, the company grew into one of Germany's top wineries. With only 10 hectares, it has held a 5-star (*****) rating for years in the leading Eichelmann wine guide: World Class – International Top Producer.
Despite Thomas’s talent and the high quality of his wines, his motto is very simple: “Wine should just taste good.” And both taste and quality naturally begin in the vineyard. Weingut Seeger cultivates its vineyards organically but is not certified. Yields are also kept low, resulting in Seeger’s wines being characterized by structure, richness, and healthy ripe fruit. Weingut Seeger produces only dry wines from grapes grown in the relatively warm and sunny Baden , where they ripen well. Especially Weissburgunder and Spätburgunder, but also Grauburgunder.
A delicious wine for the terrace! But Weisser Burgunder from Weingut Seeger also pairs well with salads, light starters, and pan-fried white fish with spring vegetables. Or with subtly spiced stir-fries with chicken or turkey, and with soft young cheeses. Serve chilled at around 12 degrees.
