Luigi Bosca Malbec is an intense red wine from the Mendoza Valley in Argentina. The wine is full-bodied and powerful, yet in a sultry, seductively delicious, fruity style. The aroma is fruity with cherry and earthy notes, and the taste is broad, powerful, and ripe. The finish is slightly spicy with ripe, soft tannins.
Originally Malbec is a French grape variety. However, it is no longer widely found in France because this grape produces a harsh and difficult-to-access wine there. Nowadays, however, Malbec is very successful in Argentina, where it is one of the most widely cultivated grape varieties. In the Mendoza Valley, on the foothills of the Andes, this grape thrives very well. It yields a deep-colored wine with a rich and beautiful bouquet of fruit and lovely complexity.
Founded in 1901 by Leoncio Arizu in the province of Mendoza. He and the Boscas, another old and prosperous family from the region Piedmont had emigrated in Italy, decided to join forces and laid the foundation for the current one Bodega Luigi Bosca.
After all these years, Leoncio Arizu's legacy is still in the hands of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who uphold the tradition of producing great wines. Continuous innovation, an unceasing work ethic, and a constant quest to achieve the ultimate expression of Argentine wine characterize the top quality of their wines, which possess a distinctive style and reflect the uniqueness of their terroir in the Mendoza region.
Luigi Bosca Malbec pairs excellently with, for example, hare stew or ostrich steak.
