It is positioned around a solitary oak standing tall against a stunning view of blue seas and umbrella trees. Everything is just right here! The Tenuta Argentiera Ventaglio literally embraces that broad panorama with a range of aromas and flavors of black fruit. Blackberries and plums, together with some smoke, pencil shavings, ground mineral, and wet river stone. Those delicate earthy notes add a beautiful framing to the lushness found within. On the palate, the wine is full and rich, displaying dense and crisp black fruit at the core. In the background, also licorice, mint, and pressed cherry.

Deze wijn krijgt bij zijn introductie al gelijk zeer hoge scores bij gerenommeerde recensenten als Robert Parker en James Suckling. De wijn is nu al mooi op drank maar is nog zeker houdbaar tot 2035. Decanteer deze wijn wel een uurtje van te voren om de waaier helemaal uit te laten vouwen. Unique in Bolgheri, the Ventaglio vineyard was chosen by the new owners, represented by Stanislaus Turnauer. The Tenuta Argentiera team has breathed new life into the estate's decade of experience in making monovarietal wines. Consequently, it has forged an exclusive, unique bond between vineyard and wine starting from the 2015 vintage. This was done with the precise aim of producing a truly outstanding label that showcases the essence of Bolgheri's southern slope in its most complex and characteristic form.

Ventaglio is the first wine from a single vineyard of the estate. A limited edition produced only in truly exceptional years. A wine strictly tied to the land and the people who make it. The result of the estate owners' pursuit of excellence. Ventaglio is the iconic label of Tenuta Argentiera, reserved for a close circle of friends and customers who share the estate's philosophy.

Morning, afternoon, and evening grapes

All work on the green vines and harvesting are carried out exclusively by hand, thereby limiting treatments to a minimum and ensuring that all cultivation methods are aimed at complete ecological sustainability and the preservation of soil vitality. The “shape of the wine” is therefore a direct result of the shape of the vineyard. The “morning grapes,” “afternoon grapes,” and “evening grapes” are fermented together, where their differences in aromatic development, ripeness, and freshness are added together to create a wine that is more than the sum of its parts—an all-round “collective natural creation” in which all the nuances of the terroir find their proper, balanced expression.

Ventaglio’s first vintage is the outstanding 2015 vintage. 500 of these bottles form a numbered limited edition, specially packaged in collaboration with decorators from Florence. Here, Ventaglio is presented using theatrical perspective. In a “metaphysical” box that combines the taste of Baroque landscape painting with innovative packaging in the shape that made the vineyard famous. In short, a work of art in itself!
