Bourgogne Chardonnay on the label, Meursault in the bottle!

Although this branch of the Latour family has been making wine since the 18th century, suddenly Vincent Latour sky-high in the rankings following the release of his 2006 vintage, when he was nominated as Winemaker of the Year by the respected local magazine Bourgogne Aujourd’hui. Additionally, he has been recognized multiple times as the best new young winemaker in the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits as a result of an annual blind tasting organized by local vignerons. And you can taste that in this Vincent Latour Bourgogne Chardonnay. The wine has a golden yellow color. Typical Burgundy nose! Fresh, white fruit, but also that lovely buttery note, those green tones, and a hint of vanilla. All very fine and elegant. On the palate, the Vincent Latour Bourgogne Chardonnay once again, that fullness and creaminess with just the right tension at the end! Now you remember why white Burgundy is inimitable. The vineyards lie just outside the Meursault appellation and are easily confused with the wine of the same name. The taste, however, is very clearly an extension of the expensive version...

    History

His father used to sell their grapes, but when Vincent took over the estate in 1989, he decided to bottle their entire production, approximately 4,000 cases. Naturally, Vincent has made several improvements over time, including the use of whole-cluster fermentation, the integration of demi-muids and foudres, and extended aging. These are employed to achieve better control over the influence of the oak. In the vineyard, Vincent follows lutte raisonnée methods, and indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation.

The name of the winery was changed from Latour-Labille to Domaine Latour in 2010. Naturally, not to be confused with the large trading house Louis Latour. Here, it is small but exquisite!!
