If you are looking for a white wine with an intense and subtle aroma and a soft freshness on the palate, then Branu Surrau Vermentino di Gallura is certainly a good choice for you! The wine comes from the sunny island of Sardinia, where the grape Vermentino is doing excellently. Due to the rocky soil you taste a refined minerality in the wine with a pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. Ideal as an aperitif, with starters or main courses with fish, shellfish and shellfish. An excellent wine that has the highest possible DOCG quality label for good reason! The wine has a straw yellow color with brilliant green reflections. The intense bouquet has fruity, lots of citrus and mineral notes, followed by a long lasting taste with savory and intense flavors. If you cool the wine considerably, this wine is irresistible as an aperitif wine. Slightly less chilled at 10 ºC, you can drink this wine with fried fish, crustaceans and shellfish. Delicious with the Fritto Misto
The Vermentino grapes used to make this wine grow on sandy soil formed by the erosion of granite rocks. This gives the wine a deliciously refined mineral flavour, making it very appealing! Sardinia is a fantastic holiday island where temperatures can rise considerably. This is great when you are on holiday, but during the harvest, it could be a bit cooler. To prevent adverse effects of the warm weather during the harvest, the grapes were cooled immediately after being destemmed and crushed. This way, the wine retains its freshness! Finally, the wine is bottled young, preserving the minerality and freshness that are so characteristic of a Vermentino di Gallura.
The Vigne Surrau wine estate is located a few kilometers from the sea, in eastern Gallura on the island. Sardinia. Here, the soil consists of granite rocks formed by the elements of wind and water. The subsoil is composed primarily of granite and sand and is rich in fossils. This makes it an excellent soil for growing grapes, as the vines can root deeply. As a result, fragrant, pleasant wines with a good alcohol content are produced. The characteristics of the soil, combined with the unique climate—plenty of sunshine and constant wind—make Gallura one of the best places to grow grapes in Sardinia, perhaps even in all of Italy.
