    The tastiest alternative to Champagne

    There is so much more to discover in the world of French sparkling wines besides Champagne! Take, for example, this Crémant de Bourgone from Veuve Ambal. Made in the same way as Champagne (méthode traditionelle), but in the heart of Burgundy! A delicious glass with fine bubbles and delightful aromas of peach, vanilla, and brioche. A festive aperitif with great value for money!

    Tasting note Veuve Ambal Crémant de Bourgogne Millésimé Brut

    What immediately stands out about this Crémant de Bourgogne is the light pink glow in the glass. This is certainly not a rosé, but it is made from red grapes such as Pinot Noir and Gamay. These grapes provide the delicious fruitiness and impart the light color. Aromas of yellow fruit, peach, and a hint of honey burst from the glass. On the palate, the Crémant is wonderfully round and fresh. Vanilla, toast, and brioche with fresh citrus. Delightfully dry with a pleasant bitterness in the finish. We wouldn't stop at just one bottle!

    Vinification

    Veuve Ambal Crémant de Bourgogne is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Aligoté and Gamay. For this Crémant de Bourgogne Millésimé Brut, only grapes from the same vintage are used. Following the manual harvest, pneumatic pressing and fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks, separately for each grape variety. After the first fermentation, the winemaker creates the perfect blend of all grape varieties, which is then bottled. Here, the second fermentation takes place, as prescribed by the Méthode Traditionnelle. The Crémant ages for 18 months on its own yeast cells, which gives the wine its delicious roundness and aromas of toasted bread. A very festive aperitif, but it pairs best with cold meat dishes.

    Veuve Ambal

    Veuve Ambal has been a top producer of Crémant de Bourgogne for over 100 years. It originated at the end of the 19thth century, when Marie Ambal made her first sparkling wines in Rully, Burgundy. Her brother was already a winemaker of great Burgundy at the time, but this Crémant is entirely the work of Madame Marie. The quality of her wines did not go unnoticed for long, and Veuve Ambal soon became the benchmark for Crémant de Bourgogne. By now, the 6th generation at the helm here and the quality is still outstanding!
