A particularly glorious red wine from Valencia!

Beautiful wine from the Levante! Soft, smooth, but certainly with depth. Something floral and dark fruit with beautifully integrated oak notes in the background. Ripe tannins. The Moya Gloria Monastrell is a powerful red wine from the mountains of Valencia, Spain. This wine has aromas of blackberries, raspberries, redcurrant, and subtle notes of rhubarb. The grapes grow at an altitude of 650 meters, where the Mediterranean climate with dry, hot summers ensures optimal ripening. The Gloria Monastrell is a special wine made from 100% Monastrell-grapes (in France the Mourvedre), perfect for lovers of full-bodied, aromatic wines with a long, elegant finish.

Flavor and Food and Wine Pairings

The taste of De Moya Gloria Monastrell is full and intense. Rich fruit notes of ripe blackberries and raspberries go hand in hand with a hint of rhubarb. The aftertaste is complex, with light toasty notes that give the wine an extra layer of depth. This wine goes perfectly with hearty, rich dishes such as ribs, mushrooms, duck or rack of lamb. The Gloria Monastrell also comes into its own with a plate of sausages. The wine tastes best when served at room temperature (16 to 18 degrees), so that the full flavor is optimally expressed.

The Wine House: Traditional and Modern

De Moya is a family business founded by Yves and Sophie Laurijssens. They combine their Burgundian attitude with their passion for local grapes. Their vineyard is located in the mountains of Valencia, where the Monastrell grapes grow on sandy, calcareous soil. The grapes are fermented in large 1,000-liter oak barrels. The cap is manually submerged to achieve the best extraction. Only the wine that flows off spontaneously is used. Subsequently, the wine ages for twelve months in used French oak barrels of 225 and 1,000 liters. Thanks to the warmth, the Monastrell comes into its own perfectly here. This makes De Moya Gloria Monastrell a unique and flavorful wine.
