A warm lemon tart with roasted hazelnuts

This Chardonnay from La Villette is a refreshing and complex wine. From your glass emerge aromas of lemon tart, banana, and pear, followed by scents of toasted bread, hints of vanilla, and roasted hazelnuts. With a long, balanced finish, this wine becomes irresistible. La Villette Chardonnay is a delicious pairing with pasta Carbonara and, naturally, goes perfectly with poached or pan-fried white fish with a white wine sauce.

This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The grapes come from vineyards located in the southwest of France on the slopes of the Pyrenees. These are blended with grapes from Mediterranean coastal regions. The grapes have enjoyed plenty of sunshine and possess a wealth of aroma! The grapes ferment for 10 to 12 days in French and American oak, creating a hint of vanilla. Afterwards, the wine ages for another 6 months “sur lie,” which means that the wine develops in its own yeast and the flavor deepens, while also developing a creamier character. Due to the early bottling of the wine, it retains its freshness and pleasant primary aromas.

La Villette, named after a district in Paris. No small fry!

La Villette winery is known for its excellent price-quality ratio. They produce abundant wines with an authentic French character for drinkers worldwide. La Villette is a Badet Clément winery and was founded in 1995 by winemakers Laurent and Catherine Delaunay. It is originally based in Burgundy, with its headquarters in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Laurent and Catherine focus entirely on making international-class wine from the vineyards of French Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, Languedoc, and Provence. Sometimes a true expression of the terroir, at other times the grape takes center stage.

The goal of the winemakers at La Villette is to produce a wine with an authentic French character for drinkers all over the world. Additionally, they aim to create a flavorful wine in attractive and reliable packaging for the consumer. Thanks to the “Vin de Pays” label, it is possible to use a wide variety of grapes for this wine. The winemakers are also free to create new blends and thus bring new, surprising wines to the market. These wines therefore promise good quality and progressive new flavors.
