Emilia Romagna is more than Lambrusco. And here is the proof….

We all know those slightly sweet sparkling Lambuscos. Back in the day, from the Pizzeria. Wines that mark the beginning of your wine-drinking journey. Actually, you don't dare talk about them anymore. Butttt…. Here we are dealing with an excellent still and deliciously rich wine made from the Sangiovese grape. And wow, this one is something! The delicious, fruity Tre Monti Campo di Mezzo Sangiovese Superiore from brothers Vittorio and David Navacchia. Deep, dark purple color. Nice and round and juicy, wonderfully laden with brilliant fresh forest fruit with hints of black and tart cherry, also raspberry and violets. Also toasted notes such as toast, coffee, and chocolate. Balanced, fleshy structure with integrated tannins and a touch of earthiness on the finish.

And well, as they say... when in Rome, do as the Romans do: Enjoy the pan-fried calf's liver with aceto champignons with the Tre Monti Campo di Mezzo Sangiovese Superiore, or even: Tripa à la Antonio Carluccio (haha, who dares?), but Coppa di Parma or the local salami also go wonderfully with it here.

    Tre Monti

Some “choices in life” cannot be explained rationally. Perhaps they are guided by emotions and experiences. Sometimes consciously, often unconsciously. That was the case, then, when Thea and Sergio Navacchia set out on this adventure in the early 1970s. Sergio and Thea, in their own way, were revolutionaries. A revolution that began in the vineyard. For example, they were among the first to work with high planting densities per hectare and experiment with non-traditional vines. Vittorio and David, their sons, continued the life's work after their mother's passing in 1989. Important collaborations emerged with the best Italian oenologists, whose lessons were fundamental to Vittorio’s growth as manager of the company’s agronomic and oenological management. It all led to the successful company that delivers high quality and now sets the standard in Emilia Romagna.
