“Let them drink wine” is something Queen Marie Antoinette would have been better off saying. Then they would have known exactly what to do with this Aubert & Mathieu Marie Antoinette Corbières. Carrigue, black pepper, and cocoa. Grand yet accessible. This pleasant red wine from Corbières in the south of France combines royal allure with the rich flavors of Mediterranean vineyards. The blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache creates a wine that looks and feels like velvet, perfect for both connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
This organic wine combines a savory nose of toast and fresh red fruit with notes of peppermint and plum on the palate. The firm tannins are balanced by a harmony of red fruit, spices, and menthol, creating a wine that is both fruity and creamy.
Marie Antoinette Corbières tantalizes the senses with aromas of toast and fresh red fruit. On the palate, alongside black fruit and plums, there is also a hint of peppermint. The wine offers a velvety texture with firm tannins. The deep, dark fruit and the hint of eucalyptus make every sip a refined experience. This wine is not only a delight to drink but also affordable, allowing you to enjoy like royalty without spending a fortune.
Jean-Charles Mathieu had a financial career in Paris, and Anthony Aubert was successful in wine marketing in the US and Thailand. These two young men knew each other from high school in Carcassonne, the heart of viticulture in the Languedoc. Despite their promising start in business, they remained drawn to the world of wine. In September 2018, they decided to embark on a wine trading adventure together.
Before they started, they established a number of criteria for their wines, emphasizing freshness, balance, and complexity. Next, they sought out winemakers capable of producing wines that met these requirements. This is how Aubert & Mathieu was born, where they brought their vision to life as negociant-élevateurs. Their clear vision and eye for packaging ensured they quickly stood out.
The creative duo won the Best Design award for their labels in the renowned magazine Harpers Wine & Spirits. The quality of their wines did not go unnoticed either. Their Corbières “Marie-Antoinette” achieved a score of 18/20 in Terre de Vins and scores a 4 on Vivino. Aubert & Mathieu opt for an innovative approach, aimed at the modern, young wine consumer.
Aubert & Mathieu Marie Antoinette Corbières is a versatile wine that pairs excellently with various dishes. This wine truly comes into its own, especially with a beautiful roast beef with red wine sauce. The firm grip and complex flavors complement rich meat dishes and make every meal special. Add Marie Antoinette Corbières to your collection and enjoy a piece of French wine culture in your own home. This wine is regal, liquid velvet, and offers an unforgettable drinking experience at an affordable price.
