The epitome of Italian house wine….

The Caldora Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a smooth red wine made from the grape Montepulciano. Fresh, with character, and excellent on its own or with food. Ruby red in color with garnet reflections. The aroma is intense, quite persistent, fruity (red fruit, morello cherry, and plums), with hints of vanilla. It is a full-bodied wine, with present tannins on the one hand, but balanced on the other, quite intense, and persistent. A dry red wine with plenty of flavor for any occasion. Ready to pour immediately. Excellent with all kinds of cured meats, salami, coppa, and cured hams; delicious with scaloppini , or a delicious Italian cheese platter. With this Montepulciano, for example, a spicy Arrabiata tomato sauce with the Linguini is always a hit.

    Montepulciano grape

After Sangiovese, Montepulciano is the second most widespread indigenous grape variety in Italy. It is a recommended planting in 20 of Italy's 95 provinces. In red wines in Puglia, Molise, Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo, and Tuscany, it is permitted or even mandatory. According to wine expert Jancis Robinson, the Montepulciano grape likely originates from Tuscany and is related to Sangiovese. Confusion regarding taste is therefore sometimes an issue. In any case, if you like Sangiovese, you will like this wine too. And vice versa!

    Caldora Vini

Caldora Vini is one of the largest cooperative wine companies in Abruzzo. A state-of-the-art winery, part of Farnese Vini. A company that excels in well-priced, high-quality wines for everyday enjoyment and for everyone. Moreover, thanks to their continuous development and research, the high-tech winery is able to produce pure wines bursting with ripe fruit.

Abruzzo is a region in Central-South Italy, bordered to the east by the Adriatic Sea and to the west by the Apennines. This is where the highest mountain ranges are located, such as the Maiella and the Gran Sasso d’Italia. From the mountains to the sea, in a unique landscape spanning approximately 50 km, you will find plateaus, rolling hills, and lush and particularly pristine environments. Additionally, there are olive groves and vineyards that stretch almost to the sea. As for the vines, the Abruzzo region boasts a great diversity, both native and imported.
