Very affordable, excellent Super Tuscan. They have passed with flying colors here at Banfi!

The Castello Banfi Toscana Cum Laude is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. A captivating Supertuscan that connects these four noble grape varieties, selected as the best in Banfi's history for their vineyards in Montalcino. The IGT label therefore means nothing here. Top-notch material! A wine with excellent potential.

On the nose, the aroma is characterized by hints of red fruit with intense cherry notes. This is accompanied by spicy notes of licorice and pepper. Broad structure, with sweet and powerful tannins, very balanced with a persistent finish. Ultimately, it offers more when given time to open up. This wine follows the classic lines of a so-called Super Tuscan red, with a wide range of aromas and a Tuscan sun shining brightly. You can actually serve this wine immediately, or otherwise keep it for at least another 5 years for some extra aging. That makes it even more interesting.

You can of course serve it daily, but it is at its best with a nice piece of meat and roasted vegetables. Just make a red wine sauce yourself with a splash of crème de cassis, and it's ready! Believe us... calls for another bottle will start immediately! Naturally, it is also a great success as a gift at a graduation ceremony!

    Castello Banfi

Castello Banfi was founded in 1978 thanks to the will of the Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani. From the beginning, the two brothers' goal was to create a state-of-the-art winery combined with the most advanced science in the vineyards for the production of premium wines. Together with the Mariani family, Ezio Rivella, one of Italy's leading oenologists, understood that due to the richness of the soil and the privileged microclimatic position, the property would have great potential for development. During those years, the brothers John and Harry also purchased Bruzzone, a historic winery in Piedmont. This winery, founded in 1860, is known today as Banfi Piemonte.
