Depth, elegance, complexity and always highly rated

What depth. Blackberries (jam), heavy berries, spices like cinnamon and star anise, pepper. An incredibly beautiful wine made from Syrah and Grenache! This wine has a rich mouthfeel with similar aromas and very soft and fine tannins in the finish. Funnily enough, the finish is fresh with a surprising elegance. A delicious wine loved by many! Wonderful with spiced Moroccan and other Arabic dishes, Tajine van Lam, and the grilled chicken. The Grenache grapes for the Domaine Lafage Cuvée Narassa are harvested when they are slightly overripe, and they are even allowed to dry out a little on the vine. This is the same technique used in Italy, as with Amarone wines. In Italy, they call this technique “appassimento”. Wines made with this technique are very popular nowadays. The slightly dried grapes impart great richness and a touch of sweetness to the wine.

    Domaine Lafage

Domaine Lafage is located in Languedoc/Roussillon, Southern France, and they produce truly magnificent wines. Almost all wines from this house consistently receive high scores, ranging from 90 to even 95 points! For instance, the “Narassa” 2018 received 93 points from Jeb Dunnuck! Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate raves about Domaine Lafage and the high quality which they manage to achieve time and again. Besides these beautiful red wines, they also make delicious rosés. Also on Vivino this wine always scores higher than 4 points

The 15th-century farmhouse Domaine Lafage is nestled between the azure Mediterranean and the mighty Pyrenees, in the far south of France between Perpignan and the coast. Surrounding the centuries-old cellars lie no less than 140 hectares of vineyards on poor soils of schist and limestone. The estate is now run by the sixth generation of vignerons: the driven winemaking couple Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage. After much traveling the world and having worked for various wine producers, Jean-Marc has returned to his family's wine estate.
